Youth Group (Grades 6-12)
We strive to provide a safe and welcoming place for all of our youth to learn, grow, worship, and serve God in everything that we do.
General Information about our youth groups.
The youth group is made up of: Middle School 6th-8th grade students, and CYF for 9th-12th grade students.
The Chi Rho and the CYF meet in the youth lounge, which is also room 310.
As a part of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ we affirm that everyone’s spiritual journey is a bit different and strive to walk with you in that journey.
Our classes and programs are set up to provide you with the tools to reach the answers to the deeper questions of life and faith, while affirming you as a beloved child of God.
Youth Education and Gatherings
There is a Youth Sunday School class all year long in the youth lounge. The youth are invited to come up to the youth lounge immediately following the 9:30am Praise service for games and fellowship.
Throughout the school year there are Youth Group gatherings in the Youth Lounge on Thursday Evenings. Youth Group begins at 6:45 pm and ends at 8:30 pm. During this time they play games, have a snack, and engage in a bible lesson discussion. Other upcoming Youth activities are listed on the FCC Life tab under activities/events.
Youth Regional Activities
Over the course of the year, both groups have opportunities to enjoy overnight activities, retreats, and an annual mission trip.
There are also annual events that are sponsored by the Oregon region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). These events are:
CYF and Chi Rho Church Camps
CYF River Rally
CYF Snow Rally
Chi Rho Mid-Winter Retreat
CYF Regional Prom
Summer Camp: Camp is held once a year and is hosted by our Regional Ministers. It is held at Suttle Lake Camp. Chi Rho (middle school) Camp is July 30 - August 4, 2017. Information for CYF (high school) is coming soon.
Mission Trip: Each year our youth (grades 6-12) engage in a mission experience (either a trip out of state or local week long project). This is a time of serving different communities, learning about God's people, and learning about living as a Christian community.
Other: The youth program is known for its monthly activities. Some of these include overnight stays.
